Soak up the history and heritage of England’s smallest City of Wells with our special, two day mid-week break.
Day One: Arrive midday to enjoy lunch in the Penn Bar at The Crown. Spend the afternoon at the Bishop’s Palace, just a stone’s throw from The Crown. Afternoon teas available from the Bishop’s Palace or al fresco overlooking the wonderful gardens.
Dinner served in the evening in Anton’s Bistrot at The Crown.
Day Two:
Take a guided tour around Wells with Wells Walking Tours (available Wednesdays at 11am and 2pm, from Easter through to September). Discover the many hidden delights Wells has to offer and learn about its interesting past and present.
The tour will finish back at The Crown Penn Bar, after which you may want to embark on a tour, around Wells Cathedral.
Finish the day with dinner at our sister pub/restaurant, The Fountain Inn, just a short walk from The Crown, beyond the cathedral.
Day Three:
We’ll set you up with a hearty breakfast before you check out. Please leave your car in our car park, while you take the morning to yourself to shop in Wells.
