So, we've teamed up with the lovely folk at the Wells Journal to host 1945 Cream Teas at The Crown. Each will be held between 3pm to 5pm on Wednesday 21st, Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd October.
We'll be sure to have the lounge area of Anton's suitably attired, as will our staff. It'll be £6.50 for a delicious cream tea - clotted cream on first, I say - along with a copy of the Journal's 1945 supplement and donation of £1.20 to The Royal British Legion.
In case you've not had a chance to read it as yet, the 1945 supplement provides stories and photographs of how folk marked the end of the Second World War in Wells, Shepton Mallet, Street and the rest of mid-Somerset. If you can't make it along to the tea, do pick up a copy, it is well worth a read.
If, however, you fancy joining us, please give us a call on 01749 673457 to book your table. Places are selling like the proverbial, so please don't leave it too long.
