The Crown, a 15th century, Grade II listed coaching inn, is in the heart of the historic City of Wells, Somerset; a stone’s throw from Wells Cathedral and Bishop’s Palace.
The Crown’s location makes it ideal base to explore Wells and the many attractions in this wonderful part of Somerset. Cycle and walking routes, for all abilities, are nearby.
Each en-suite room is comfortably furnished with television, tea/coffee making facilities, Egyptian cotton sheets and bath sheets, as standard.
There is free WiFi throughout the building.
Food is served in Anton’s Bistrot and Penn Bar. Menus feature local produce, providing a variety of delicious, reasonably priced dishes.
Local ales and ciders are available, as well as a choice of wines by the glass and soft drinks.
The Crown’s claims to fame include William Penn preaching from a window in 1695 and, more recently, the exterior of The Crown in the film Hot Fuzz.
